Developers

So you think you’re a hotshot, eh?

Of course you are.

We know you love tinkering with new plugins and code libraries, but finding the time amidst all of the expectations (for someone as talented as yourself) is difficult.

We want to help you help your team and to gain some amazing capabilities in the process.

Landscape-Focused Parametric Design

While Land Kit can be used by Architects, Planners, Civil Engineers, Artists, and more, it’s core focus is Landscape. I mean, who else does that?! But that’s the beauty, these parametric components and workflows are highly adaptable to landscape tasks (pratically mutagenic).

Imagine combining pattern making, rules-based placement, topographic sculpting, and analysis in an endless number of parametric workflows. While we hope to save a lot of designers a lot of time, we also hope that these tools can be used by people like you to push the envelope of what is possible in the profession, both creatively and technically.

Component References

We are building solid components for Grasshopper that handle a lot of inputs (geometry and data types) to expand the possibilities even further. Each component has a dedicated Components Reference Page with additional guidance that serves as a reference as you navigate your daily problem-solving tasks. Every component is carefully crafted with input and output names and descriptions to help make building new Grasshopper definitions that much easier.

Components also use dynamic units which change default values and internal coefficients according to the current units in Rhino.

Workflows are Open

The Workflows that we provide for you and your team to use are not locked down. While they rely on Land Kit components, the Workflows are extensible and open for you to change and extend. They provide advanced examples of how to create easy-to-use interfaces with Grasshopper. We were surprised how much was possible to build with HumanUI.

Campus+ also has some great resources for you to learn how Land Kit workflows work, component by component.

We’ve got your 6-7-8

Rolling tools out to a whole team is a scary job. And a ton of work. With the resources and support we provide, it can be much much easier. From Office hours to Bug reporting and design services team, we provide all kinds of support for Rhino 6, 7, and now 8. Land Kit is even available now for macOS on Rhino 8.

Workshops and Computational Design

We can work with you to train your team or explore a project’s particular needs. Our collaborative and creative team is equipped to solve a range of educational, design, visualization, and communication problems. Try us.

🟥 Pro is worth it

A Pro Key unlocks greater potential. Give it a try and request a trial.

You can help your team save so much time, you are going to pay for those licenses and then some. Open up hours that you should be spending on drawing, engaging the community, or exploring options more effectively.

Let’s Make this Happen.

Getting setup is easy, Getting the team on board, not so much.

  • Give it a try, first. Obviously.

  • Then try Pro features with a pro trial license.

  • Share with the decision makers. They may take some convincing.

    • Time saving = Money saving for the team

    • Better quality = Greater value and a Competitive edge

  • Make the case to IT.

    • Installation and Implementation is pretty easy.

Installation Logistics

  • Land Kit Free and Pro are the same package (“landkit.ghpy”). A Pro Key (0000-0000-0000-0000) unlocks the Pro components.

  • Keys can be added with the Land Kit License Component or by putting the key in a text file here:

    • Windows: C:\ProgramData\Land Kit\key.txt

    • macOS: /Applications/Land_Kit/key.txt

  • One machine per seat at a time. If licenses are in use Land Kit free components will still work but Pro components will not show up in the toolbar and will appear as missing components in Grasshopper definitions.
